Common work-flows are represented using template projects. A template project is a definition of how the work is achieved, in terms of its work-flow, and which type of resource is responsible for each task. For example, the customer account manager would do certain tasks, a technician some, and a finance team member others.
When a Template Project is launched, real people are substituted into each role (either chosen by the project manager, or based on their skills and customer relationship), and the project comes to life. Each task is assigned to a person, who receives a detailed ‘service request’, or task description.
It gives them all the information they need on the task at hand, as well as the overall project. They receive a notification by e-mail or text message, and if they have done the task, they can tell the system that it is done with one click – no need to even log into the project manager software. This means that team members spend less time updating the system, and more time doing the job. In the background, Pulse Projects launches successive tasks, and notifies the relevant people. Change Control

The reason an active task is described as a service request is because the Project Module is opening a service request in the Service Module, as if a customer had requested the job. This means that team members who are already using the Service Module receive their project tasks in the same way as a normal service request. Also, a service request can launch a project, if the customer’s requirement involves a complex process.
The Pulse Sales Module will launch pre-defined projects when a new deal is done or an order is placed, ensuring the seamless transition between prospect and customer.
Pulse Projects talks to Pulse Financial business accounting software in that it can automatically create customer invoices when certain project billing stages are reached.
